The sides of the small two-room schoolhouse were nearly bulging with people early in April, for the Student Art Show. Organizers at the Coquille Valley Art Center hope to repeat that large turnout for their two annual fund-raising events.
A Mega Used Book Sale will be held Saturday April 25th, from 10 – 4pm. Besides many gently used fiction and non fiction books, this year there are also a large number of children’s books and videos for sale. In keeping with the current economic situation, the prices have been reduced. The charge for hardcover books is $1.00, and paperbacks will sell for $.50 each.
An “Almost Everything Sale” will be held the next weekend, May 1st – 3rd.
Items to be sold include plants, books, baked goods, household items, clothing, and some collectibles. The hours for the sale are 10 – 4pm on Friday and Saturday, and on Sunday from 11 – 3pm.
Visitors are also encouraged to pick up a brochure listing the classes offered at the Art Center, located just south of Coquille at 10144 Highway 42.
